The Keston C of E Primary School Parent Teacher Association has a very active role working with the school, parents, carers and the community to ensure we achieve the best for our children’s development.
Everyone who joins the school is automatically a member of the PTA. We encourage all parents, carers and extended family to get involved as much as they can. We understand that other commitments limit participation at times but any contribution big or small is greatly appreciated.
For example, you can help raise money for the school every time you shop online by visiting http://easyfundraising.org.uk/. They convert commissions you generate into donations for Keston PTA.
Each class has a class rep. The role of the class rep is to keep parents and carers informed of any events the PTA are organising and to encourage people to take part. Class reps also organise collections for teachers and TA’s at Christmas and at the end of the school year, and the Christmas night out. It is really helpful if the class reps attend the PTA meetings once a month.
Our regular events include the Summer and Christmas Fair, discos, film nights, panto, cake sales and Fab Fridays (ice creams sold on a Friday throughout the Summer).
The PTA sends out a Newsletter each term, updating on what we’ve raised, what we’ve purchased for the school and giving details of forthcoming events. Example: https://www.smore.com/jsu6h
The PTA meet regularly throughout the year to plan events. If you would like to be involved, please drop us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or message on our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Kestonprimary/).
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in the school hall once a year. Everyone is invited to attend. This meeting reviews the finances of the PTA over the year and discusses ideas for the next year.
