Year 4 will be exploring some exciting learning challenges as well as continuing to progress through the core subjects of English, Maths and Science. We will learn about the Romans, London, the River Thames and Henry VIII. RE will include the Church, the Bible and Hinduism.
We will be focusing on developing our basic maths skills and using them to solve ‘real life’ problems. In Literacy, we will continue with our reading, comprehension and writing of fiction and non-fiction texts including information texts, journalistic recounts, explanation texts, newspaper articles and persuasive writing. In Science we will study electricity, living things, sound, water and the digestive system.
Year 4 pupils will have the opportunity to progress from their recorder lessons in Year 3 by taking up lessons for a wind instrument. This will lead to joining the school band if practised and band level is met!
