Year 6 is hard work, but there are plenty of rewards and fun activities to look forward to.
We have a varied programme of study including The Vikings, Mayan Civilisation, Water, Sikhism, OS Map reading and the study of our surrounding area and contrasting locality, the Isle of Wight. In Year 6 we begin the journey of Secondary Transfer and are encouraged to become independent and reliable. We have roles and responsibilities to fulfil and can be elected by our peers to become School Council Representatives and Junior Traffic Ambassadors. We are buddies to the Reception children and have specific roles around the school.
We have many trips and visitors linked to our topics and transition including TFL, Junior Citizens Scheme and our residential trip to the Isle of Wight.
Year 6 work hard towards the SATS tests in May.
The opportunity to represent the school in special events, sports teams, drama productions and musical activities increases: the school competes in a wide variety of sport, the school concert band plays and the school choir sing in school and at public events.
