Keston Church of England Primary School

Year 1

"The juicier the mistake, the better we learn!"

- Year 1 Pupil

Year 1 is a very exciting year as children move from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage One. We move on from the learn through play curriculum into the National Curriculum covering a range of broad and exciting topics such as toys, space and seasonal changes. We learn about the different countries that make up the United Kingdom. We will also be looking at what History is and technology from the past. We will find out about Mae Jemison and why she was so significant. We will also be producing some fun pieces of art and we will even design and make our own sandwiches.

In Year 1, we go to the farm to meet Father Christmas, play with toys from the Victorian times and even get a train to London to visit landmarks and the London Aquarium.

If you have any questions at all, please email us at y1keston@keston.bromley.sch.uk.
