Regular reading books
The children will be given reading books and are expected to read every day. Please encourage your child to read and discuss their book every night. When the book is finished, please sign/comment on the reading record card and remind your child to complete the book review sheet, which will be sent home with new books.
Homework
Maths and English homework will be set on a Friday and should be completed by the following Wednesday.
Learning logs will be based on topics we are covering and linked to the curriculum. They will be given out termly.
Spellings will be given out and children will be tested every Friday. The children need to write more complex sentences that include the new word in their homework book.
Handwriting sheets will also be sent out for children to practice joined handwriting.
Times tables knowledge will be tested every Friday. Please encourage your children to practise their times tables on ‘Times Tables Rock Stars’. Please let me know if your child needs their logins.
